Beth McElroy Kirkwood

Orland Township Committeeperson Beth McElroy Kirkwood has been active in Democratic politics for over 40 years. Beth was unanimously appointed by vote of the Cook County Democratic Party on December 14', 2021. Jumping right in, Beth participated in the Cook County Democratic slating process taking place after being sworn in that day. Since slating, she has been working daily helping the party slated candidates get on the ballot for the spring 2022 election cycle. A long-time resident of Orland Park, Beth is a wife, a mother of three, and an educator in Orland School District 135.

In 2019, Beth was elected to the Moraine Valley Community College Board of Trustees where she is serving a six-year term. Beth is not new to the world of politics as her father Ed McElroy was a long-time well-respected expert in the field. Thousands tuned in to the Ed McElroy show on Comcast cable that featured elected officials and to hear his opinions and insights. Beth is forging her own political path with her positions at Moraine Valley Community College and Orland Township Democratic Committeeperson. Beth brings experience, knowledge, and legacy to the position and is determined to continue the pride of the Orland Township Democratic Organization.
